HANDEL MESSIAH

Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre

PAUL TERRACINI Conductor ROWEN FOX Chorus Director CAMILLA WRIGHT Soprano AGNES SARKIS Alto MICHAEL BUTCHARD Tenor RICHARD ANDERSON Bass Residing in London since 1712, Handel had built his reputation writing opera in the Italian style, however as public taste shifted he turned to the oratorio to recapture this earlier success. Messiah is Handel’s best-known work in this genre and has been a fixture on the concert stage ever since its premiere in Dublin in 1742. A co-production with Penrith City Choir, this much-loved work features four exceptional soloists and chorus.
